Where did you get that pressure gague from? It looks like you just tapped the pvc/abs and screwed it in. Is it really that easy?

Yes, it is really that easy. I just picked a glue joint so the pvc would be double thick, drilled and tapped it. Then just screwed the gauge in. I just got the gauge from a local hardware store. Granger has 0-5 and 0-10 lb models made by ashcroft which would be much better quality and more accurate.

2000 gph isn't bad but closing one line to move some load to another raises head a little. May not matter in your system but those little contributions need to be noticed when you're evaluating the head drop across the filter.

It's interesting how the ehad does drop once you get rid of the multi position valves on most of the commercial bead filters.

Another person that built one with a 55 gal barrell has only 1.5 PSI with his. But he isn't flowing as much water either. The key to low back pressure is using the 4" well screen pipe in and out.
