Need Help (ground water)

New pond is dug 7.5 ft, well it was 7.5 ft now its more like 6.5 and heading toward 6ft. It keeps having more dirt/sand settle into it. I have a utility pumps in it but its always rising more water and the dirt slides in and settles making it shallower. When I get in the pond I sink to my knees in muck, well its clean sandy muck. I cant put crushed stone and pour my concrete floor with it like this? Any thoughts or advise?

If you have the space you could make a mud pond . In conditons like that you would have to put in socked drains first or everything would float up the moment you emptied the pond . It is always wise to put in a test hole and observe it for some time.

Bigger pump? More pumps? Most Home Depots have Tsurumi electric trash pumps. Some rental yards have BIG Tsurumis.

If the water that is coming up is natural ground water then there isn't alot you can do. The water will keep coming no matter how much you pump. You may need to make you pond shallower and com up above ground.
