flanged tank-liner connectors???

the local pond supplies shop is selling these connectors. seems like it would be easier to use than bulk head on the liner. it's made of ABS, not PVC material. should I be concerned on its durability say 5 or 10 yrs down the road? I don't know if it's UV resistant or not either. didn't say on its webpage.

appreciate any comments,

Steve

Are these the ones from Fancy Koi Outlet?
Tangential Pond Return (TPR)
If so, they are great. I have used them and really like them.

yes, they are. I am sure they are great to use. more concern is that it's made of ABS and not sure if it's UV resistant. the shop owner doesn't seem to have concrete answer on its durability. it's good now but if it fall apart in 5 yrs, then it's not good to use, right?

I would be more concerned about which glue to connect to the fitting than UV. In a health pond that flang should be cover with healthy carpet alge to even remotely allow UV to effect the structural integraity of the flang.

have to use ABS glue. PVC glue will melt this stuff.

NO, there is special glue made to join ABS to PVC, either the thick clear "All Purpose" glue or the green "Transistion" glue. Please use one of these.

If I am not mistaken Steve those flanges are made of black PVC...you might want to check with Lam.

I asked him a few months back. Lam said it's ABS.
