I have removed the chamber cover, cleaned and added rubber preservative to gasket. I have stood on top of the lid no change. The exposed pipping seams tight, no visible water, or noise, tried to disconnect fittings, to tight. Pump is not making any noise.

If it's a suction line, you would not necessarly see a leak in the piping though.....water won't come out if air is being sucked in. Any way to push water through the pipe the other way? Or pump air thru the pipe and soap up the exposed joints? That way even a small pin hole leak of air would bubble.

One thing that worked for me, if you don't have too many joints and don't mind the messy look, use the blue water pvc glue. Put it around each joint while the pump is running. If it's sucking air, you'll see the glue being sucked in. You may want to paint your pipes after. ![]()

I helped my friend troubleshooting similar problem. here are my suggestions: 1. clean the leaves basket lid and close it tightly. then re-start the pump and inspect for air bubbles. you should see some little bubbles if there is air leaks. if you see some bubbles, you know the problem is air leak 2. find the air leak on intake pipe starting from the pond edge to your pump 3. if you can't see any air leak, swap this pump with the other pump since you have 3 identical pumps. if the problem follows, you know it's the pump. if the problem didn't follow, start digging. your intake pipe has an air leak somewhere. good luck Steve

You could also have just a "simple" impeller problem with some sort of fiber wrapped around the impeller. Steve's suggestion of swapping pumps is good because it will quickly let you isolate the piping issues from the pump issues. It is not uncommon to have to clean or replace and impeller once in a while.
