Water flow meter

Does anyone have a pic of a water flow meter? Does it fit onto the pvc like a fitting? Where can I buy one?

Exactly but about $400 cheaper.

I had no idea they were that expensive. Guess what I won't be installing. LOL

The same website has less expensive flow meters under the link to "flow meter" rather than "water flow meter". One for a 1 inch line is $53.35 and one for a 2 inch line is $245.

Thanks, Gary! I'll check it out. The $54 is more in my price range.

besides the obvious flow rate reading, any other benefit of having the water flow meter installed?

Steve,

For a new, unfilled pond if it has a complex shape that makes if it is difficult to calculate its capacity you can use the flow meter on the input pipe to calculate the pond's capacity (flow x time required to fill).

Steve, I have a meter that I use on the hose to get the actual gallons of the pond. I have my pond set up on a semi-flow through. I wanted to add a meter on the outgoing waste pipe so I can judge how much water I'm changing out a day. Just by using a gallon container and a stop watch, I'm guessing it's somewhere around 200 gallons a day but I know that's not accurate.

Flow meter or water meter.
A bit different. Water meter, like the one for your house, lets the water company know how much water you've used. Also imortant for filling a pond, duh..
Flow meters are in two categories. The inexpensive one will roughly tell the gph, but do not allow them to be in the sun as alge will cloud the reading.
Sac Koi has a digital meter, about $250.00 which is very accurate.
