I also have been working on fiberglass shower trays and my fiberglass shop just ensured me the 1st one to show you will be out of the mold tomorrow. These trays will look close to the wooden ones I made for my shower (pictured here), but vacuum bagged fiberglass. Very strong, with three 3/8ths stainless spreader bars. Because of the tapered sides, they will nest together for less shipping costs. They will be about 52" long and 16"wide top measurement. I'll have pictures tomorrow.
Here's a picture of the wooden ones I made last year. The new fiberglass trays will look like these, but have a wider flair for more air space. They will come as blanks so you can cut what ever holes you want, where you want them.

Thanks Mike. I'm really thinking hard about how I want to add/change my existing filtration. This might be the way to go.

Steve

Very nice job indeed. As far as the fiberglass ones go, do you have a cost yet and are they sold as a "set of four" or individually priced? Looking at the wood ones you made, the top three have no bottom in them so I trust you used some sort of screening. Are the fiberglass ones done this way or will holes need to be drilled in the bottom of each as you see fit when purchasing?

The trays will be sold as blanks, you cut your own holes where you wnat them. Or sold with the bottoms cut out and the heavy dog kennel grating installed. They will also be priced individually or discounted in set's of four. They will be in sky blue so using them for shower trays is not the only thing. They can be used as long bowls for measuring your 48" koi, or colorful planter boxes for the windows. I'll post more tomorrow.
