w-lims-pre-formed-koi-pond-p1010211.jpg Hope this pic is visible. I'm not that "street smart" with bulletin board stuff. My soil is hard clay, it would be probably be easier to build an above ground pond versus digging one. I fear the water temp getting too hot during the summer months, unless I sink a pond at least 2-3 feet underground. I can rent a small excavator.......*At any rate, my grandkids named the yellow one: "Buttercup", the orange & black one: "Halloween", and the black, white & green one: "Cookie Dough".

I have installed them and like them. One of my wife's Q-tanks are made of one. It's a great tank for the size. I'm not sure I get the "too expensive" concept? First of all a liner pond done properly is labor intensive. It also has a short life expectancy when compared to the preform depending on the care of installation, then you get to do it all over again. William's preform will way outlast any liner pond of it's size and you virtually can't damage it. Liner is relatively delicate.
If your time is worth much at all the preform pond for that size is a bargain in shape, quality and durability.

if you DIY...labor is $0

much has to do with how much, if any, you have to pay for installation

Kent,

I love your setup. I thought you had to sink the whole shell in the ground. If you use blocks, do you back-fill with sand in order to provide adequate weigh support?

Liner is great for free forming, yet if this works for your needs,... Sure would be nicer then flaps...

W Lim does not sell direct to the public. So you need to go through a dealer...

Hope this helps..
