If your not handy a small bead filter or the Nexus Eazy Pod works well.
ok that sand/ gravel filter sounds good, i think i can have a 55 gallon barrel, but do you have any pics, or written instructions? Like for example what media goes first? the sand, gravel, small pebbles, etc, thanks alot birdman, i think i might go with that, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

when you say you wanna cut the bottom out,and dig deeper, would you not be better off buying a box welded liner and putting it into the ground?
im sure you could get a vat somewhere cheap,if its only to qt fish and not to grow them on you wont need much bigger than the tank you talk about to qt single fish in.

    Stock tank investigation

I researched the 1000 gallon stock tanks by Behlen. One of the authorized dealers/distributers is Lowes. You might be able to locate them from a local supplier by visiting the Behlen website. I wasn't as lucky as Steve. Lowes wanted $359.00 for the tank, plus another $250.00 for shipping to their store in Morehead City, NC. Just my 2 cents.

I got them from a farm and ranch supply store in Madras, Oregon. I don't know where you are, if not close to me, try calling the number on the tank label for your nearest location.
