    Koi Health Research

I have just finished some marketing research for a generalist fish keeping magazine. The most interesting result was:

The number one thing fish keepers want to know, is what to do if it looks like their fish is going to die.

I wonder if it is the same amongst the koi hobbiest.

Speaking only for myself, I would hope to learn a great many things from a magazine before "heroic rescue!"

I would also not expect to find information about a particular situation in a periodical.

It's a terrible feeling to see one of your "Babies" looking ill. At times there are no outward signs of what could be wrong, so you just have to guess as to what treatment you are gong to try first. For myself, I use a salt dip first and cross my fingers!

I think this has been posted before but Duncan Griffiths has just published a great book on koi health:

Step by Step Advanced Koi Diagnostic & Treatment.
