show time coming fast in Pacifi NW

this weekend, Portland hosts their 25th annual show. The very next weekend, Puget Sound has their young fish show. I'll be benching and if you have been
reading but not participating in KB's board come introduce yourself. The last weekend in August I'll be benching Spokane's show so again if you'd like to say "hi ", please do.

results of Portland are in. congratulations to sharon olson and husband dan from spokane. Thier sanke "mehgami" took GC and Bill blackburn, Seattle took reserve

with his kohaku. both koi were bred by toshio sakai. Well I quessed the right lady but wrong koi. The kohaku i liked bumped it's nose on the way over and was not looked on kindly by the judges

'next weekend end is our show. we'll see how well I did there in quessing the winner in advance.

This was sharon's first GC and i very proud of what these two have accomplished in such a short time. They are building a new pond to end all ponds and it will be quite the technology!

The weather is scheduled to be nice Ray, Bill who took reserve in portland will probably be on hand ( I think you know the blackburns) and jerry is planning to get you to see the world class bonsai collection at weyerhaueser right after your arrival. Should be a fun weekend.

some how the term benching doesn't seem quite adequate for what we do. last year i put my back out so this year I got a brace. I heard kerin koi had a nice blue fish for sale at the show in portland. A friend of mine needed a favor so i did her work at home and she went to the show. happy benching Bern
