New to Bito

Hi there!

My name is Melissa, and I am new to both koi, and Koi-Bito. I've been into the koi hobby for a few months, and I have learned a lot so far, but I definitely have not learned enough, as I still make mistakes, and find myself asking for help more than I would like.

I have always had a fish tank with goldfish, but that was about it up until I got to live out on my own, and I bought my own place. So there's lots of adventures awaiting me.

I am currently Attending Penn Foster to finish my degree to become a Veterinarian Technician. I have always found it in my heart to work with animals, and I am one of the few people who can say that my dreams have come true.

I have a wonderful husband who I wouldn't trade for the world. We have been through thick and thin.

I have my own business in the tattoo industry. And we are looking to open up a retail/tattoo shop with in the year. I also make vinyl decals if anyone is interested. I specialize in koi decals.

I also run a dog rescue specifically for bully breeds, but I'm always breaking the rules and rescuing any type of animal.

I have 4 pitbulls, one of which is a foster dog for the local humane society. I have 3 cats. A tropical loach tank, and a koi tank in my basement of 1,500 gallons.

Our pond is not finished yet, but we are aiming for something between 6-10,000 gallons, and then we are going to be working on 2 small 3,000-6,000 gallon mud ponds for a few 2'' koi that I would like to see grow out.

I would really like to open a koi club in my area, as the only thing we have is the MAKC, and I just think it would be awesome to get the fellow ponders in my area involved in something, plus, we like meeting new people!

Anyways.. enough with my intro. :]
