Joe Pawlak possesses degrees in Aquaculture and over three decades of experience in fish production, with an understanding of marketing both retail and wholesale. Joe’s longstanding relationship with his many Japanese Koi mentors allows Blackwater to offer the best American bred Koi, year round, at very competitive prices. With locations in central and northwestern Florida, Blackwater Creek Koi Farms is able to produce high quality Standard Fin Koi, Butterfly Koi and Goldfish, almost year round due to the 11 month growing season. The brood stock used can trace its lineage back to the original, high quality, fish imported from Japan and their own cultivated stock.

He then went to Europe to study veterinary medicine, graduating with honors from the Universite de Liege in Brussels, Belgium in 1976. Returning that year to NYC, he began practicing and held a special interest in birds and exotic animals. After many requests from clients, he opened the Long Island Fish Hospital in 1998 to care for the health of pet fish. Dr. Tepper has served as Treasurer of the International Association for Aquatic Animal Medicine, as an Officer on the Executive Board of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association, and as a member of the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, Association of Avian Veterinarians, the AVMA and state and local veterinary associations. In 2012, Dr. Tepper was named one of five Fellows of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Tepper will lead an extensive workshop on what are the critical signs of illness that you need to be vigilant about with your Koi and what are the important early steps you can take to prevent an illness from escalating.

No problem. I'm having a great time at the show and bought a very nice Shiro Utsuri from Kimmy.

                  Can't wait for the clinics.

Darn! I just noticed this thread. My wife and I have been visiting our daughter and her husband in Stamford CT since Friday 31st. I could have snuck away and gone to the show. I even looked online for a CT club on the off chance having a meeting that weekend so I could invite myself, spread the word on Texas weather, and act really incredulous and dumbfounded when someone mentioned a pond heater
