haven't gotten mine yet...so may be just a Lil bit behind the other's in getting started.

Mine's going into a 2000 gal indoor pond. Heat and water controlled. has a bunch of other carp that hopefully will go outside in a month or so. My RO water is right on according to mike snaden's figures so we'll see that works for growth.

I have been raising an ake mae kigoi and it's grown lengthwise decently but am really happy with the depth of the body. Those that came with it that are still at the dealers are longer but not as full bodied.

Lam drove 3 hrs today to get me my sanke. Wow, how lucky can a guy get to have a friend like that! She is so little compared to the matsukawabake's....But glad to have her "home". She's not shy about feeding with the other big girls......so we'll settle her in, in the next few days and then start working on her to start stretching......Right now she is in 68 F water and being fed a mixture of EA health, Saki-Hikari growth, and saki-Hikari all seasons.

I agree, Lam is such a sweetheart. I am just glad that I was finally able to get the sanke to Coach and I am sure that she is good care and will be stretching pretty soon.

Sandy, no matter how much I touch this sanke, it is definitely a female and will not be changing her sex any time soon. Who knows, maybe I am losing my touch. I must admit this sanke has a very prominent body with a great hump and her skin quality is just amazing to boot! I think that Coach is going to enjoy her for years to come!

I had a dickens of a time getting the inside koi outside to make room to start growing her and my koi from purdin koi farm. We've had such a long cool spring. But have her in my inside pond, heated at 73 F and starting to feed 5X a day with 32-38% food. Will be ratching up the heat here soon to around 78 and will start in feeding Tomy-gai 40% tategoi chow. her luster is imnpressive but having a touch of problem with my R.O. Water which seems to bring out a faint secondary Hi on her shoulder. So am trying to cut back volumn of water change with R.O. and still maintain a lower PH. My Koi from purdin seem to appreciate this water better than "bug". So my hope for her is that she'll start her growth spurt here soon and while I'll be behind and probably not catch up with the rest, I'm more interested in getting it right, rather than just putting length or bulk on a koi. She has her whole entire lifetime ahead of her to grow and develop and I'd like her to finish as the best she can be. I'm very happy with the water quality she is in and her colors and luster is amazing.

Bug's in 50F water these days as my little heater can't keep up with the unseasonable cold snap. She really looks good body and quality wise and the reddish color on her shoulder has disappeared, so I am very pleased
with how she is doing after all she has been thru. Funny, I haven't really "bonded" to her unusual pattern but my local koi Kichii is cracy about it. go Figure Sorry i didn't measure her, as i didn't want to stress her too much, thinking somewhere in the 16 plus inches or so

As soon as it warms up outside i hope to mover her to the outside pond. she's in 62F as I wait. The temp outside is in mid 50's with more rain/cold this week. we're averaging temps 10 degrees lower than normal. This is an olde shot from last year. her body is incredible, quessing 24 inches now.
