  • Next year's ALL-JAPAN TOKYO SHOW.

Okay just wanted to see what people would pick as next years All-Japan Tokyo Show for 2006. The first Kohaku has the won the GC already, the hobbyist is allowed to show the fish again after skipping one year. So now it can go head to head against last years Superior Champion. Who would you pick if this show down took place?

Note: the pics aren't the best...

would like a better picture of the the second koi. The first I have seen in person...so I pick....the first koi.....with the reservation that in person, the choice could be reversed. Now wasnt that wimpy?LOL
    Best regards,

ok.. either photoshop has better kiwa on the second koi, or it really is so. Darn that nose is white! LOL Tough call.. conformation seems similar. The skin on koi #1 was incredible.. hard to see if it is so for the second koi? Any seen it in person? I tend to prefer patterns such as koi #1 (heavier) because I like to see the hi. What is the size of the second koi?
          Best regards,

koi #2 for me. As Bob suggests it's hard to really know until you see these koi up live in person and can sense their presence. A good photo will give you color and depth and pattern....but not the essence of the individual.

Knowing the history of the All-Japan Show...if Kohaku 2 wins next year it will be the first time a non-asian hobbyist wins and if Kohaku 1 wins it could be the 3rd fish ever to do it..Would be an interesting show to see next year....Joe you down to go?

disregarding the hi and shiro (due to pics)
i pick the 2nd koi (more interesting pattern)
1st koi wins the conformation award

Its funny cause I took a bunch of pics at local dealer of Maruyama Kohak when they first arrived out of box.. Then when a good friend saw the pics asked me what I thought. I went back to my pics and took a look and couldnt tell him of what I saw in pic but told him what I saw in person Definately the fish in person makes a world of difference...

I like number 2--but is her head crooked? I'm sure she wouldn't be at that level if so--probably just how she is swimming.

What is the date of the show--in case people can make it?

It's difficult looking at these pictures. They could look much different at the show.

                              Are both koi from Sakai?
