  • NorCal ZNA Chapter ?

Seems like there are many koi kichi in Northern California -
is/was there any discussion/threat about NorCal ZNA chapter?

How difficult to form one like SoCal ZNA? What are the requirements?

    zna nor cal chapter

There was a zna nor cal chapter formed in 1978 in Hayward, CA, in the late 1980s the president passed and no one took over.
Probably can be activated as a friendship chapter but will require 25 members all subscribing to the Nichrin magazine.
    Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the great info. What do you think NorCal koi folks? I know
Erwin and Antonio already subscribed to the Nichrin magazine.

          zna nor cal chapter

Yes, that sounds real easy but do not forget first in order the to have a friendship chapter you will need members along with officers that is president, tres, etc. Who will be willing to step up to the plate and do the work?

Dan, I think subscribe to Nichrin is just one of the requirements.
If that is the only requirement - we can form the NorCal ZNA
chapter in days ;-)) I plan to subscribe to Nichrin soon regardless.

I have many koi buddies around here that willing to sign up for NorCal
ZNA chapter as well as subscribing to the Nichrin. I will help if someone
                willing to drive this task.

It easy to get buddies to sign up, but who will be willing to work, no use in forming a chapter and not holding a koi show every year.
Koi shows are for education and friendship. There is no use having a club that have 100 members and two workers. What you need is 25 members and 25 workers ......all willing to step up to the plate....walk that walk and not talk the talk.
                  Hope you understand.
There are many clubs that have a large number of members but only few workers consequently the number of koi shows are diminishing each year due to lack of help.

Agreed, members make it look good...

Working members make the club better....

Very much understood that. Specilly lifes in Silicon Valley are so top. Have to
spending so much time for works and not much for hobby and others. This is
                        one of major issues.

I just want to give a shot for this and surely want to help out.
I will let Antonio, Keokoi, and other NorCal masters to give their
                        imputs.

Bito forum or any other internet forums are good for us to run away from
work sometime. From this forum threats such as "The next polyurea pond to be shot is? ", I can tell how much guy guys really in love with this hobby. Thinking about having an ZNA with monthly mtg so we can chat and share in person would be a wonderful part of the silicon valley lifes.

Antonio, my master, i will let you take over this threat and this task as well;-))

Don't hesitate to move forward. If you wait until all your ducks are lined up, you'll be a very old hobbyist.

I'm willing to sign up to get it started. You won't get 25 to start with, but call a meeting and the folks who show up can help to carry the ball from there.

There are folks in the Sacramento club who may be interested.

Don't worry about people showing up to work. That problem will be addressed by the members with organizational development or leadership experience. They will be in the crowd
