It's a hannah, coloration. very pretty face and nice dark scalation. from a personal standpoint I like some red in the pecs and a little on the face to give character. The scales are not precisely zipper like( one matching the other on the opposite side,) but it's pretty darn close! I like shusui very much. Too bad their blue doesn't last very long (even with the best ones). I'm hopeful to get one this year from Mat at Quality koi (Nissai Koi Farm ). I had a chance to look at some early harvested tosai this year and they were pretty nice!

This fish is goin goin goin goin...to get darker!!! Well in Cali it will....The Shusui is fine for now but I would like to see the dorsal scales just a bit lighter.....For now a nice specimen...

My shusui is my favorite fish, but lost all of his red this spring his zipper is almost perfect and I got him at a local fish store that sells a bunch of mutts. thought I got a steal, but now I see...

I still love him, though, as he's by far the most aggressive fish I have!

edit: with a german heritage, is it proper to still refer to the red as "hi" or is it too different from the coloration in a gosanke breed?
