Interesting....I never thought about mother's day in japan. i know this is the month for boys and girls day. Ummmmm? one feature I wish we had was access to follow up on some of the stories published in "The Magazine". KB of course.
I'm still digesting the Asagi issue and would love to be able to ask it's author
questions. But I'd settle for another new one! Thanks to Aurthur on this board for preparing my new Avitar. Mike in Hawaii on this board helped me to name her
"Yosiko". Right now she's in Jersey getting ready to spend the summer in the mudpond! She just turned 3 this month (japanese count) and I bet she looks a tad different this fall. i'm excited!

        Ahhh...Dick.

I hope you were typing fast and therefore dropped the "h" from the name Yoshiko...

For those who care, Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada, is a Japanese Textile Artist who has written a number of books on Shibori, a form of Indigo (blue) and white tie dying...Hence the name...

        Aloha! Mike

I did "fat finger" the keyboard Mike. Thanks for the correction.

Arthur who posts here is in the process of providing a mud pond for koi nuts in the portland oregon area. I do think it's a wondeful service and worthy of supporting for both sides!

glad you liked the asagi, bout time i got that done!

Oh geeze! Yesterday was Boy's Day and we forgot to celebrate here on the board. That's about as close as you can come to a Koi Day. My kids were hanging those koi flag/banner things at school. For whatever the reason, we went out to eat Mexican last night in celebration of Cinco De Mayo. Mike T., what do you eat for Boy's Day - sashimi?

he probably played that old japanese game show....name that " Tuna " !

It was raining on Boy's day here so I didn't want to get my koinobori wet.

                Mud Pond Activity in Oregon

Glad to see some interest in mine and Arthur's mud pond activity
We will have one pond of 2,000,000 gallons in operation soon and I expect to make four more mud ponds this summer that will be put into operation next
spring. I intend to have 12 to 15 ponds when the entire project is completed
The majority of the ponds which are in the same area when viewed from a distance will give the impression of a Niigata mountain scene
We will offer up some pictures as things develope

                    Tony,

Still pre-press, finished the feature article layout today, but still have quite a bit to do. Should be worth the wait though...

that's some forward thinking! I hope other koi kichi's will support your efforts so that others across the country will be encouraged to provide such a great service. It's been awhile coming but like settling this great country of ours it took a few Pioneers
( and don't tell Arthur but a few adverturous former Brits as well! ) Cheers!

ok ... the price is 9600 yen per 6 issues (1 year). free dvd?

if i were to subscribe now ... what issue # do i get?

can i buy issue #1 to see if i like the mag?

does brian read all the threads? (considering this post is at the bottom of the thread he already answered)

and the last question is ... do you have subscribers in the Philippines?
because i need to know if the issues arrive fine.

                              thanks
