Thread: Finished my koi pond....

    Finished my koi pond....

    around 5,000-5,500 gallons....4" aerated bottom drain, two Answer 325 units, a 55 gallon K1 fluid bed, a phoam phraxionator, 58 watt UV, two TPR Returns....ES4500 pump for bottom drain line.

    skimmer runs 3500 gph through the 58 watt UV, to the filter falls which has matting.

    so far, so good.

    10x15 max dimensions, 6 feet at bottom drain.

    well, if this is any idea, my yamabuki ogon longfin that doesn't have long pectoral fins, has gone from 14" to 18" since March 30th.

    and a lot of that growth has come in the last two weeks since I got the pond setup (they were in the garage in an intex with adequate filtration and water changes).

    this was her as of this past fall.

    I love the video when "The Beast" comes up and you were so kind as to zoom in for us to see "IT" in all "IT'S" glory!

    Looks like the fish are quite active and enjoying the new digs.

    I can't imagine the kind of growth you're gonna pile on your fish now.

    tosai will undoubtedly hit 26" this year, minimum.



    at the end of the video, in the far left bottom corner, my tosai Quality Koi sanke comes up for a pellet. I guarantee (almost) that by late July she will be over a foot long.

    Do you have you 325 Answers plumbed from your mains pump or are you using the 325 Answer pumps provided?

    The pond looks great Ethen!! Just in time for the growing season, the suggestion I have is to keep an eye on the water quality in the coming months.
