    sorry folks are all over

    Check this out......

Koi fish stolen from Zilker gardens

While the Japanese Garden and pond at Zilker Park in Austin are not the best of koi habitats, the pond there has had koi for at least two decades. Mostly junkers like you'd see in most any public koi display, but also pets to the keepers and rangers in the park.

Difficult for me to figure why somebody would go to so much trouble and risk for big, ugly koi. Even the park only valued the koi at $150-$200 each (probably a gross overvaluing). Then, how does a person go about fencing a koi?

In this day and time, it might be they were just hungry.

At any rate, its a sorry state of affairs and I hope the offender(s) is caught.

    That's pathetic.

I had not thought about someone fishing for the koi, but the park did say it was over a while that they disappeared.
    that makes sense

They probably heard that koi are worth large koi are worth thousands of $ and will sell them for half as much. If they ate the koi instead I hope they choked to death or get poisoned.

I beleive in something I call the deserve factor. Everyone eventually get's what they deserve both good and bad. Similar to karma. With these bad guys I hope they get what they deserve soon!!
Disclosure:These opinions are based on my experience and conversations with persons I consider accomplished koi keepers and do not reflect the viewpoint of any organization.
