I borrowed a copy of this DVD off Mark Gardner at the end of November and have had the pleasure of viewing at my leisure since then. As I am returning it today I gave it one last look yesterday evening.
Only on this second pass did I occasionally reach for the fast forward button, but most of the time I sat there engrossed. Normally with these things I find fault pretty quickly, mostly because they are normally dressed up attempts to get me to part with my money rather than an attempt to teach or entertain, despite what they say on the lid.
This one is different, and it took me a while to figure out why. And then it clicked. With the exception of the family interest at the barbecue, it's an objective peep into the world of Momotaro, almost like eavesdropping. Nobody is trying to tell you what to think. You are left alone to make up your own mind.
Bloody good job as we Brits say.
Thanks Brian.
