It's been interesting for sure watching all the SU's develop. As luck would have it I purchased two Omosako SU's about the same time the grow out started. Same age and stuff...
It's been very neat to see the differences between the two that I purchased compared with the ones that were part of the grow out. I'm sure I paid a little more than the growout price (don't know how much these cost you guys) but these two fish have been simply exciting to watch... I was able to draw some simularity between a couple of the grow outs and my one koi, and of course, the other remains an anomoly.
What a great learn!! Thank you!

I think Bruce (Mtn Ponder) has a very good chance. His fish is awesome.
Well I noticed something very strange with #62 yesterday. The pond has been going through new pond syndrome with pea green water, string alge...ya know start up stuff.
Well the last couple of days the filteration has been kicking in and the water is clearing, not clear but at least you can see 3' now as opposed to -0.
#62 has gone grey scales with a dark spot in the center of the scale. This is also the one with the "chocolate spots" (the chocolate spots are not affected) and the rouge yellow, ..........but with the killer tail tube.
These pictures are at best crappy but I think you can see what is going on. Better pictures maybe later.
This first picture shows #62 in the middle left with #127 top left and a Brett Shiro next to it. This shows the grey and the black difference.
This next picture is a better picture of #127 for comparison..........
#127 on top of #62...........
Now the best shots of what #62 looks like today.............

Just my opinion and probably way off base but I think she's growing. The center of the scale is still very dark so she will darken back up.
You really should something about that green water.![]()

Nice to see you give us an update on your S.U. I too am experiencing some rouge yellow. It has appeared on the head of my S.U. I have talked myself out of catching it for photos time and time again but now that this yellow patch popped out of nowhere a couple days ago, I might have to bowl it!
Keep the updates coming!

Bill she had that same reticulation beforego back and look.
but Sandy I think is right, she is just growing.
LukeFish 's sumi is changing again too, thank goodness!
I disagree with the Growth Idea . I'm sure the Koi is growing , but the dark area isn't in the center of the scale . It seems toward the area which the scale is attached to the body .
Maybe you have a Kage Shiro .
